WATCH: West Virginia player has bird feathers in his helmet during game

Fans watching the West Virginia-Oklahoma State game were treated to an odd story involving a Mountaineer.
Apparently, one West Virginia player puts bird feathers in his helmet before every game, and they were poking out the top on Saturday.
As you can hear in the clip below, the announcers discuss the weird tradition:

It does sort of look cool, and the Mountaineers are having a good season, so perhaps the tradition will continue.
However, it is pretty strange to have bird feathers in your helmet, especially since the ends have the potential to poke you in the head.
