Will Muschamp welcomed South Carolina fans back into the film room with the continuation of his weekly series analyzing opponents’ game tape.
This week brings a detailed assessment of Ole Miss (5-3, 1-3 SEC), which hosts the Gamecocks (4-3, 3-3) at noon ET on Saturday. Muschamp analyzes both sides of the ball, starting with the Rebels’ explosive offense that’s ranked 21st nationally in scoring.
To show the danger of Ole Miss quarterback Jordan Ta’amu on the run, Muschamp pulled a clip of a deep pass to AJ Brown against Auburn. Ta’amu dodges an edge rusher before rolling to his right, directing Brown to the sideline and dropping a beautiful ball in his hands.
“We’ve got to stay disciplined in our pass-rush lanes,” Muschamp says. “… Quarterback scramble plays will be essential. We need to play well in those situations.”
On the defensive side, South Carolina’s coach highlights a Rebels linebacker stuffing a counter play in the backfield against LSU’s stout offensive line.
