WATCH: Will Muschamp breaks down Tennessee film heading into Saturday’s game
With South Carolina coming off a bye week, coach Will Muschamp has had plenty of time to study tape of the Gamecocks’ next opponent.
Muschamp breaks down what he he learned about Tennessee in his weekly film review, where he goes in depth on the Volunteers’ strengths on both sides of the ball. It’s a great resource for South Carolina fans wondering how their coach digests film and how he might attack Tennessee (3-4, 1-3 SEC), which the Gamecocks (3-3, 2-3) host at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Muschamp highlights Volunteers quarterback Jarrett Guarantano’s success throwing vertical routes, specifically to towering receivers Marquez Callaway and Jauan Jennings.
“The matchups are difficult because of their size,” Muschamp says.
On defense, Muschamp appears impressed with Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt’s ability to create winnable situations for his players. Muschamp spotlights a particular play where the Volunteers’ defensive scheme creates one-on-one matchups for their defensive ends against Georgia’s offensive tackles, which results in a forced fumble.
