There were several streaks worth noting from Week 1’s action, but maybe none more intriguing than the curious decisions of LSU’s live mascot Mike the Tiger.

Before each game, Mike’s keepers will try to entice him from his sanctuary on campus on to a trailer to take a ride over to the stadium to watch the game from his cage.

He missed the entire 2014 season, and visited just seven times over the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

But Mike decided to break that streak on Saturday by loading up and heading over to catch some of the McNeese State/LSU game, according to ESPN’s David Ching.

Unfortunately for Mike, that game went through a lengthy weather delay before ultimately being canceled.

Still yet … the streak was broken!

Here are some other noteworthy streaks from the weekend:

  • Alabama extended its streak of games in which it has scored to a program record 184 consecutive games during Saturday’s 35-17 win over Wisconsin.
  • Arkansas held UTEP scoreless in the first quarter, extending its defensive streak of scoreless first quarters to seven games.
  • Auburn ended Louisville’s streak of not being shut out in the first half, which stretched back to 2012, by holding the Cardinals scoreless until the break during Saturday’s 31-24 victory.
  • Florida extended its winning streak in season openers to 26. It is now tops in the country thanks to BYU’s Hail Mary win over Nebraska, which had a 29-game streak entering play on Saturday.
  • Kentucky kicker Austin MacGinnis snapped two streaks on Saturday. He missed a second-half field goal to break his school-record streak of 11 consecutive made kicks, and also missed the first extra point of his career, snapping a streak of 44 successful point-after tries.
  • Mississippi State‘s offense has reach 420 or more yards in 15 consecutive games in which QB Dak Prescott has started.
  • Missouri won its 14th consecutive home opener and improved its all-time record against FCS opponents to 15-0.
  • Tennessee extended its streak of consecutive games in which it has scored to 261 games, dating back to Sept. 17, 1994. It ranks as the fourth-longest active streak in FBS and 10th-longest of all-time.
