Leonard Fournette and Kentrell Brothers have been named the SEC’s Week 2 offensive and defensive players of the week.
LSU’s star sophomore running back managed career-highs in carries, total touchdowns and yards during the Tigers’ season-opening win at 25th-ranked Mississippi State Saturday night. Les Miles went with a stubborn approach on the ground and Fournette provided 159 yards and three touchdowns to lead the way.

Brothers posted his second consecutive 16-tackle game during Mizzou’s win at Arkansas State and added two interceptions. Brothers’ 32 total tackles this season is tops in college football, two ahead of Tennessee’s Jaylen Reeves-Maybin who posted 21 stops during a loss to Oklahoma.
