Week 3 NFL: Peyton Manning leads comeback as Denver falls in OT

Peyton Manning looked for redemption Sunday in a Super Bowl XVIII rematch with the Seattle Seahawks. Down 20-12, Manning led a game-tying drive that forced overtime after a 26-yard touchdown to Jacob Tamme and a successful two-point conversion to Demaryius Thomas. However, the Broncos fell in overtime after Seattle scored on its first possession of overtime. Manning finished with 303 yards, two touchdowns and one interception on 31-of-49 passing. Here’s how several other VFLs fared this weekend:

  • Robert Ayers, DE, New York Giants: Ayers finished with three tackles in the Giants’ 30-17 win over Houston.
  • Britton Colquitt, P, Denver Broncos: Colquitt made eight attempts for 378 total yards, 342 net yards, a 47.3 average, a 42. 8 net average and three punts inside the 20-yard line.
  • Dustin Colquitt, P, Kansas City Chiefs: Colquitt recorded 255 total yards, 244 net yards, a 51.0 average, 48.8 net average and two punts inside the 20 on five attempts.
  • Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee Titans: Hunter recorded 37 yards on three catches as Tennessee lost to Cincinnati 33-7.
  • Malik Jackson, DE, Denver Broncos: Jackson recorded five tackles in Denver’s 26-20 win over Seattle.
  • Jerod Mayo, LB, New England Patriots: Mayo recorded 11 tackles in New England’s 16-9 win over Oakland.
  • Denarius Moore, WR, Oakland Raiders: Moore recorded 23 yards on three receptions in a 16-9 loss to New England.
  • Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Minnesota Vikings: Patterson recorded 61 yards on four catches in the Vikings’ 20-9 loss to New Orleans.
  • Dan Williams, NT, Arizona Cardinals: Williams recorded two tackles in Arizona’s 23-14 win over San Francisco.
  • Jason Witten, TE, Dallas Cowboys: Witten recorded 49 yards on four receptions.
