A loss all but eliminates South Carolina from making national noise the rest of the way and crushes dreams of an Eastern Division title.
To pull off the upset, the Gamecocks must tackle well, win the time of possession battle and make plays in the passing game against an inexperienced secondary. Defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt going to likely come after Dylan Thompson early on the blitz, so the senior quarterback’s decision-making is paramount to South Carolina’s success against the fifth-ranked team in the country.
