Amidst a disappointing season that caused its multi-million dollar coach to be fired, LSU has found few silver linings.
But on Saturday night, the Bayou Bengals experienced a positive piece of history during the team’s 13-10 win over Western Kentucky.
For the first time in Tiger history, a trio of brothers played on the field at the same time, as Whit, West and Zach Weeks all lined up at linebacker.
West has been one of the stars of a stingy LSU defense this year, ranking third on the team with 68 total tackles while pacing the squad with 7.5 tackles for loss.
Meanwhile, Whit entered the season as one of the faces of the unit, but a bone bruise in his ankle he suffered in late September caused him to miss four games. Still, Whit has managed to rack up 29 total tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss in limited time.
And to round out the trio, Zach is a true freshman who reclassified to be able to be on the same team as his brothers for the first time ever.
In the win over the Hilltoppers, West was the only one to register in the stat sheet. He finished third on the team with 7 total tackles, and he also picked up a sack and pass breakup.
