Wes Blankenship is known for causing SEC fans to chuckle about Southern sayings, and became popular for his fictional Coffeetown High School radio play-by-play calls that hit home to so many.
Now he’s out with another impression of actor Matthew McConaughey, a well-known Texas fan, predicting wins for the Longhorns in their first SEC season in 2024.
The Longhorns will host Florida, Georgia, Kentucky and Mississippi State, while visiting Arkansas, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt, and being the designated visiting team against Oklahoma in Dallas.
“You know they say it just means more here, more change means more of the same,” Blankenship began. “See ya sooner, see ya later. Oklahoma’s a win, not an if. How about a warm Texas state welcome for the Magnolia State Bulldogs, sorry pooch, Bevo’s anti-Bully. They told me we had some Gators on the schedule, but all I see is a new pair of boots. Chomp, chomp turns into stomp, stomp when you leave The Swamp.”
About Georgia, he added, “The big Dawgs out of Athens may come in on a 3-peat, but that don’t mean they can’t be beat. Woo pig ain’t too big. Arkansas is just Kansas with too many letters. One of my favorites is W.”
