The West Virginia Mountaineers are dealing with some serious allegations on Tuesday, as DC Vic Koenning has been placed on administrative leave.

This move stems from accusations by sophomore safety Kerry Martin Jr., who shared the allegations on Twitter on Tuesday. The allegations go from calling Martin “retarded” to making inappropriate comments about players’ religions, politics and racial demonstrations across the country.

After the tweets from Martin, West Virginia’s AD issued a statement on the matter (via ESPN):

“I want to thank Kerry Martin for having the courage to bring his concerns to light. We will not tolerate any form of racism, discrimination or bias on our campus, including our athletic programs,” West Virginia athletic director Shane Lyons said in a statement. “Coach Vic Koenning has been placed on administrative leave effective immediately, and the department will work with the appropriate parties to conduct a thorough investigation into these allegations. This is serious, and we will act appropriately and in the best interests of our student-athletes.”

Here’s the thread of tweets from Martin, where he makes the accusations against Koenning:

This story might just be getting started in West Virginia. We’ll see what happens next.
