Hugh Freeze’s Auburn Tigers got a much-needed SEC win on Saturday.
Coming into this weekend, the Tigers had yet to win a conference battle. The team had lost 4 consecutive SEC games to start the season. On Saturday, the Tigers got the best of the Bulldogs, winning 27-13.
After the game, Freeze couldn’t help but be proud of his team’s effort. Freeze credited assistant coach Cadillac Williams for getting the team pumped up before the contest.

Williams was great at getting the Tigers motivated last season as the interim head coach and was retained by Freeze.
One of the stars of the game for Auburn was running back Jarquez Hunter. The back carried the ball 17 times for 144 yards. The back also caught 2 passes for 26 yards. After the game, Freeze praised the back’s work ethic.
“Just work. He doesn’t say anything. He just works,” explained the coach.

In fact, Freeze liked the effort of the whole team and feels like the team is “getting better at some things.”
Auburn HC Hugh Freeze: “Our kids and our staff continue to work, and I thought we saw some signs today of getting better at some things… With the remaining stretch that we have and going on the road over the next two weeks… it had the feeling of a critical game.”

Finally, Freeze hopes the win will inspire some swagger for the team. With a stretch of winnable games coming up, the Tigers will look to secure bowl eligibility.
“You hope it gives us a little confidence, and a little bit of swagger to go play on the road,” Freeze explained.
