Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M Aggies once again fell to the Alabama Crimson Tide in a close game on Saturday.
The game was back-and-forth in the 1st half before the Aggie offense went ice-cold in the 2nd half. The Aggies mustered just 3 points in the 2nd half and ended up losing by a score of 26-20.
After the game, Fisher had much to say about the loss to his rival. One particular play that was mentioned was Fisher’s decision to punt in a tie game from his own 45-yard line on 4th and 1.
“The score was 17-17… We had it third-and-2, but then it was fourth-and-1,” explained the coach, Fisher also explained that he would’ve gone for it had it been less than 1 yard to gain.

Notably, Alabama went on to score and make it a 24-17 game.
The Aggies have generally been a decent running team this season, averaging 160.4 yards per game on the ground.
However, against the Tide, the Aggies could not get anything going on the ground. The team ended with just 67 rushing yards on the day. After the game, Fisher was asked about the dismal performance.

Finally, the coach spoke on how the loss will affect his team.
Jimbo Fisher: “It’s a hurt locker room because they felt really good about how they were playing in the game. That’s still a good football team in there. We have to regroup.”

The Aggies will have to regroup quickly as the team will next head to Neyland Stadium to take on the Tennessee Volunteers.
