Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M Aggies had a disappointing 2022 season; however, they ended it on a very high note Saturday night.

The Aggies upset No. 5 LSU 38-23 behind running back Devon Achane’s monster 215-yard, 2-touchdown performance. Quarterback Conner Weigman threw for 2 touchdowns, too, and receiver Moose Muhammad made some incredible catches down the stretch. It was a complete team effort for Fisher’s club, including on defense.

LSU’s offense, led by Jayden Daniels, was held at bay for much of the night.

The Aggies upset knocked LSU out of the Playoff talk regardless of what happens in the SEC Championship Game against No. 1 Georgia.

Following the win over LSU, Fisher spoke to ESPN. Below is everything he said.

What the win told him about his team …

“Listen, we haven’t gotten the results that we wanted, but I always say, adversity reveals your character. And our kids, no matter what the circumstance is, we practiced hard everyday and we came and played hard everyday. There’s a lot of character, and I’m happy for those seniors to send them out right and for the future of what we can do. Hopefully, we can now understand and get the results we want.”

On Devon Achance’s huge game …

“That’s Devon. Devon is the ultimate competitor and the ultimate team guy. All of the kids on our team are. But Devon is special. Like I said, everybody from the outside kept saying, ‘What do you have to play for?’ The kids inside were together the whole time.”
