Kentucky is one of two SEC East teams off to a 3-0 start with a conference win. The Wildcats are off to a great start, but they face their biggest challenge yet as No. 14 Mississippi State (3-0) comes to town.

UK coach Mark Stoops took questions about the Bulldogs and his own team on the SEC Coaches Teleconference:

On Mississippi State’s running game:

  • They really put a lot of pressure on you, running for 300 yards a game and have the ability to throw. Their total offense, scoring offense… It starts with them being physical with a talented back in [Mississippi State RB Kylin] Hill and adding [MSU QB Nick] Fitzgerald, it puts stress on you.

On how physical he expects the game to be:

  • Without a doubt, with our team, we know it’s a line of scrimmage league and we need to meet that challenge and have a great week on both sides.

On the development of UK QB Terry Wilson:

  • Been very pleased with Terry and his growth. He feels more comfortable in each game, he made a big jump from Game 1 to Game 2 and another one last week… He puts in the extra time and it shows with the way he is improving.

On his assessment of the defense so far:

  • We have made progress, we’ve been more consistent. We must improve each and every week but I like this team’s work ethic and I like the depth we have up front. I’m pleased but not satisfied and want to continue as the season goes.
