The Arkansas Razorbacks fell at home to the BYU Cougars in Week 3 by a score of 38-31. It was a frustrating game for the Razorbacks, who committed 14 penalties for 125 yards and lost 2 turnovers.
After the game, coach Sam Pittman was visibly frustrated by the performance.
Brady Latham, who is a captain for the Razorbacks, notably committed 7 penalties, with several of those wiping out big gains. Pittman stressed after the game that he isn’t worried about the lineman, however.
“I think (Brady Latham) will be fine. We asked him to move out to tackle… He’ll bounce back from this, he’s won a lot of games here and is a great player.”

Pittman expressed that he felt the team “played hard,” but didn’t “play smart.” The coach also lamented the many costly mistakes that were made.
“We played hard, we just didn’t play smart. We have to do a better job of playing smart and holding onto the ball… there’s a few uncharacteristic things today that are my job to fix.”

The coach was also complimentary of the opposing BYU Cougars. The Cougars gained just 281 total yards of offense, but forced 2 turnovers and played a cleaner game than the Hogs.
“BYU exposed us, give them a lot of credit. We’ve got a lot of things to work on.”

The Razorbacks will enter SEC play with a 2-1 record. The next test will be the LSU Tigers in Death Valley under the lights.
