It was another crazy weekend in the SEC as Florida took care of Georgia, and Tennessee took perhaps the most surprising loss in the SEC this year against South Carolina. Meanwhile, Alabama and LSU got to sit back and enjoy it all on their bye week. Let’s take a look at what national pundits are saying about last weekend’s games.

Mizzou has looked worse with each passing week this season, and the days of their dominant defensive lines look to be over. On the flip side, Kentucky has gotten better each week after an embarrassing loss to Southern Miss.

Florida vs. Georgia

Florida defeated Georgia behind a physical defense and a lack of offensive execution by the Bulldogs. This win, as well as Tennessee’s loss, puts the Gators as a near lock to win the SEC East. However, as the Gators continue to climb, the hardest part of their schedule is just around the corner.

Samford at Mississippi State

Mississippi State loves its fanbase so much that they couldn’t simply bore the season ticket-holders with easy wins over cupcakes. The South Alabama and Samford games have been some of the wildest of the season for the Bulldogs – a win by USA in Week 1, and Samford quarterback Devlin Hodges finishing with 468 yards on Saturday.

Auburn at Ole Miss

Auburn ran all over Ole Miss, who are quickly turning into the New Orleans Saints of the SEC: a great quarterback, and not much else. When the No. 1 pass offense and No. 1 rush offense met on Saturday night, fans knew it would be crazy. The smart money was on streaking Auburn, who got it done on the road.

Tennessee at South Carolina

Maybe Will Muschamp actually is a good coach, and all the talent at Florida was holding him back. Well, the Gamecocks sure played like they had the better quarterback on Saturday, if not also the better coach. South Carolina, now 4-4, looks to make a bowl game as it enters the final stretch of its schedule.

New Mexico State at Texas A&M

Texas A&M got a near bye week here with New Mexico State. Still, the Aggies took care of business and stayed comfortably in the top 10.
