College football analyst Danny Kanell releases his top 8 teams in the country on Sunday mornings, and once again the former Florida State quarterback has Alabama and Georgia at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively.
But those are the only SEC teams to make the cut this week, following losses over the weekend by Arkansas, Florida, and Ole Miss.
Rounding out Kanell’s top 5 are Penn State at No. 3, Iowa at No. 4, and Cincinnati at No. 5.
He then has a surprise at No. 6 in BYU, with Michigan and Oklahoma checking in at Nos. 7 and 8.

As for how things might change next week, both Alabama and Georgia will be on the road for tough conference games.
The Crimson Tide will play Texas A&M on Saturday night, while the Bulldogs have a huge rivalry game on deck at Auburn.
Additionally, Iowa and Penn State will face off next Saturday in Iowa City.
