Mac Jones didn’t have his biggest game of 2020 on Saturday, but he also didn’t need to. While the Alabama quarterback went 24-for-29 for 208 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions, the Crimson Tide’s rushing attack powered a 52-3 victory at Arkansas.
Even though Jones didn’t score, he’s still among the top quarterbacks in the country this season. In fact, he remains No. 1 in ESPN’s Total QBR rankings, with a score of 96.0. That’s a metric that rates quarterbacks on a 0-100 scale, taking into account the strength of opposing defenses.
While Florida quarterback Kyle Trask is a Heisman Trophy front-runner (along with Jones), he’s actually not the No. 2 quarterback in the SEC per ESPN Total QBR. That spot belongs to Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral, who ranks third in the country with a 90.5 rating. Trask is right behind him at No. 4 with a 90.3 rating.
