Who would win Lawrence Cager vs. Richard LeCounte matchup? The players themselves weigh in

Georgia wide receiver Lawrence Cager and defensive back Richard LeCounte likely go at it on the practice field week after week.
As far as who would win in a real game, 1-on-1 scenario? That depends on who you ask.
WSB-TV’s Zach Klein caught up with the duo, as well as head coach Kirby Smart, before their game against Missouri on Saturday, to get their thoughts on the matter.
“You’d like to say Cager,” Smart said. “But after watching Richard against big man (Florida tight end Kyle) Pitts, he did a good job matching up on him.”
LeCounte, of course, feels as if he’d get the upper hand, but left a little room for debate.

“(Cager) knows what’s up,” he said. “I think it’d be a competitive one. I don’t know. It might go 1-1. I’ll leave it at 50 percent. But I think I’ll win.”
Despite nearly flubbing his own campaign, Cager made sure to let everyone know his thoughts, while upping the ante.
“I’m taking Richard LeCounte,” he nearly said, before correcting himself. “I’m taking Lawrence Cager every time. And I could take him in basketball anytime.”
Cager vs. LeCounte on the hardwood instead of the gridiron? There might be something to that matchup in particular. Cager did play basketball at Calvert Hall in Maryland, while LeCounte was a standout at Liberty County High in Georgia and worked out with the Bulldogs basketball team this past summer.
For now, though, it’s all eyes on Missouri, and a 7 p.m. kickoff at Sanford Stadium.
