Why Auburn’s Anthony Schwartz thinks he can beat NFL speedster Tyreek Hill in footrace
“Flash” vs. “Cheetah” — who ya got?
Anthony Schwartz isn’t shy about his pick.
The speedy Auburn receiver told AL.com he’s confident he’ll beat Kansas City Chiefs blazer Tyreek Hill in their offseason footrace. Hill responded to Schwartz’s challenge on Twitter last week, setting up a showcase in speed between two of the fastest football players at their respective levels.
Both players have experience running track, in which Schwartz — the Tigers true freshman who goes by “Flash” — is a 2020 Olympic hopeful. In 2012, Hill ran a personal-best of 10.19 seconds in the 100-meter dash during his high school days, while Schwartz logged a time of 10.07 in last year’s Florida state meet.
“I’m (gonna) win it, to be honest,” Schwartz said of his race against Hill, whose Twitter handle is @cheetah. “…I think I got it. Especially being in track, I’ll probably just have the speed ready.”
The pair hasn’t set a date for the race, but it should be a treat.
