A question and answer session with Kentucky signee Landon Young caused quite a stir last week.

The four-star offensive tackle’s comments about his relationship with Ohio State coach Urban Meyer, which were reported to include quotes about Meyer calling him a “bad player” and Kentucky an “insubstantial” school, made for a flashy headline.

But Young says the comments from an interview with SEC Country have been taken out of context.

He posted a note to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon in an attempt to clear up the situation:

While what Young says is true in that he was reportedly asked to recall one of the funniest things that a head coach had said to him during the recruiting process, the context in which he was talking about the comments from Coach Meyer do not change the fact that Meyer supposedly said those things in the first place.

By the time the fall rolls around, it’s likely that Young and Meyer both likely will have forgotten all about this situation.
