Will Anderson Jr. has signed his rookie contract with the Houston Texans, the franchise announced Friday afternoon. According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Anderson is the first top-5 pick from this year’s draft class to sign his deal.

While the Texans did not announce the financial details of the deal, Pelissero reports it is a fully guaranteed deal worth $35,212,818 million over 4 years. Anderson also receives a $22,609,320 million signing bonus.

Houston is in full rebuild mode entering the 2023 season, and Anderson figures to be a big part of that. The Texans traded up to No. 3 to select the Alabama product after selecting Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud with the No. 2 overall pick.

Expectations for the Crimson Tide pass usher are high with Anderson leading the odds to win the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award. DraftKings currently has Anderson at +350 to win the honor, leading former Georgia DL and Philadelphia Eagle rookie Jalen Carter at +650.
