Will Anderson Jr. spent some time at the NFL Combine discussing what the Alabama standard is like under Nick Saban.

“I was committed to the standard, to the culture (Nick Saban) had built,” Anderson told PFT Live. “I wanted to uphold that standard, that culture so much, once I’m committed to something, I’m all in, it’d be selfish for me, I know what’s right from wrong, not correcting somebody else about it and I think that’s what he respected me about. I wasn’t scared to step on people’s toes and I wasn’t scared to get in people’s butts if I need to.”

Mike Florio commented that while there isn’t a perfect player, Anderson is “the ultimate competitor.” Anderson admitted that he was never cussed out by Saban, however, his position coach is a different story.

For every great player, there’s a moment, or a game, that they remember as a turning point. Anderson’s came as a freshman.

“Florida game, my freshman year (2020 SEC championship game), it just clicked for me,” he said. “After that, the game slowed down a little bit. I could catch up. I could read keys. … It started coming natural, and that’s when I just took off.”
