Will Echoles is a bad, bad man.

In one of the better plays you’ll see from a defensive tackle this week, the Ole Miss lineman absolutely blew up Oklahoma’s offensive line, pushing his way through a pair of defenders to help tackle Oklahoma running back Tory Blaylock in the end zone for a safety.

We say help because Princewell Umanmielen was also in the backfield making the tackle, but it was Echoles’ pressure that allowed the sack to happen by cutting off Blaylock’s lane.

As it often happens with safeties, Ole Miss added more than just 2 points thanks to this play. The Rebels returned the following kickoff to near midfield, but were unable to get into the end zone. Still, Echoles’ tackle gives Ole Miss a 15-10 lead over Oklahoma with just over 4 minutes remaining in the first half.

While you can never complain about putting points on the board, Ole Miss definitely wanted more in that moment. Kiffin was noticeably upset with himself after deciding to put Austin Simmons in at QB, who then missed a pair of passes to the end zone. Instead of enjoying a 2-possession lead with a touchdown, Ole Miss had to settle for a field goal.

Still a lot of football to be played in Norman. Buckle up, folks.
