One of the best hires of the past offseason was LSU bringing in former Wisconsin defensive coordinator Dave Aranda to run the Tigers’ defense.
After making $1.2 million this year under Les Miles and interim coach Ed Orgeron, Aranda should be in line for a raise.
Under Coach O, the Tigers will have plenty of money to hire the top assistant coaches, meaning Aranda could see his salary bumped to the $1.5-million range, according to The Advocate.
Interestingly, Aranda and Houston coach Tom Herman (presumed to be the next head coach at Texas) roomed together in college at California Lutheran University.
Still, if Herman calls his old college roommate, it’s unlikely Aranda will leave LSU for the wide-open offenses of the Big 12, especially if he scores a big pay raise.
