Tennessee and Kentucky will face off Saturday in Nashville for a chance to play in the SEC Tournament Championship Game. For John Calipari’s Wildcats, UK’s chance at a No. 1 seed could be on the line.

The No. 1 seed debate was a topic on Saturday’s ESPN “College GameDay.” College hoops analyst Jay Bilas said he doesn’t see the Wildcats as one of the four teams deserving of the top seed.

“The No. 1 seeds should be Virginia, Gonzaga, Duke and North Carolina,” Bilas said. “If you think that Kentucky’s better, put them on the one line.”

ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi, however, is currently projecting the Cats as a No. 1 seed. The projection is based on UK being favored to beat Tennessee and then notch another win in the conference tournament finale. If Kentucky (27-5) takes care of business against the Vols (and the Florida-Auburn winner), the debate is sure to carry on right until the bracket is revealed.
