Will Levis is receiving some hype as a potential Heisman Trophy candidate ahead of the 2022 season.
The Kentucky quarterback had a strong first year in Lexington and now some analysts are predicting a Joe Burrow-like jump for him this fall.
But, speaking over the weekend, Levis said he’s not worried about any individual preseason hype. He just wants to help Kentucky win (via On3 Sports):
“I don’t care. It doesn’t mean anything,” Levis said. “I don’t look at that stuff. None of that’s ever mattered, so why should I care about it?”
Levis threw for 2,826 yards, 24 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 2021. He added 376 yards and 9 touchdowns as a runner.
He’ll need to improve on that to win the Heisman, so we’ll see if he can get off to a hot start against Miami (OH) on Saturday, Sept. 3.
