Will Levis is the guy in Lexington this year. He starred as Kentucky’s quarterback in 2021 and is now getting buzz as a potential first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
On Wednesday, Levis was among the Wildcats’ contingent for SEC Media Days in Atlanta, and he recalled a time he met NFL legend Tom Brady.
Levis said on the SEC Network that Brady told him he might play him some day, and Levis now has that on his list of goals (via 247Sports):
“Tom’s always been my guy,” Levis told SEC Network during SEC Media Days in Atlanta this week. “I mean, coming from New England and rooting for him and going to his championship parades growing up. I mean, it’s insane for him to still be here. I actually got to meet him and I met his father as well. And he was talking about how I could probably play him and I was like, ‘Yeah, one of my goals is to beat Tom Brady,’ so that’d be cool.
“But, other guys that I really like watching, probably Josh Allen would be one of them. I think that his play style is very similar to mine. And I was able to meet him as well and talk to him and ask him some questions. Mostly how he learned how to slide because I need to do that as well. Other guys watched a lot of Matthew Stafford last year because of our offense that we ran. I watched a lot of Matt Ryan and yeah, I love Aaron Rogers too. He does some awesome things with his body.”
Can Levis someday join the ranks of elite NFL quarterbacks? That’s a question for the future. For now, Levis is focused on making the 2022 season as great as possible for himself and his Kentucky teammates.
