Kentucky quarterback Will Levis had a big opening day starting his first game for Wildcats in their opening against Louisiana-Monroe. The junior quarterback threw for 367 yards and 4 touchdowns in the Wildcats’ 45-10 victory.
He was so impressive that he won the Manning Award for Quarterback of the Week for his performance. The award is based on a fan vote from Facebook.

Levis was chosen over several other quarterbacks, including Cincinnati’s Desmond Ridder and Will Rogers from Mississippi State. Ridder threw for 295 yards and 4 touchdowns and Rogers threw for 370 yards and 3 scores.
Before the season starts, the committee picks 32 quarterbacks to put on their watch list. Past winners from the SEC have included Mac Jones, Joe Burrow, Cam Newton and Johnny Manziel.
Levis is a Penn State transfer.
Levis and Kentucky’s next opponent will be the Missouri Tigers on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time.
