South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp confirmed on his radio call-in show Thursday that starting left tackle Dennis Daley will miss the game at Ole Miss on Saturday.
“He’s still coming off that ankle, hoping to have him back next week” said Muschamp, per The Big Spur.
The senior will be replaced by another senior in backup left tackle Malik Young. Young replaced Daley in the 27-24 win over Tennessee in Week 9.
“He came in and played really well” said Muschamp when asked about Young, “He has played good football for us. He will play left tackle, absolutely. Malik has been a great teammate, has worked extremely hard to put himself in a position.
“I talk to the players all the time about when your number is called, be ready to go, be ready to play at a high level. Certainly, he did that. Dennis played the first 12 snaps, and Malik came in and played a really good football game for us.”
The Gamecocks will have an early kickoff in Oxford, starting at 12pm ET on the SEC Network.
