What Will Muschamp said after South Carolina’s road win at Mizzou
By Cody McClure

South Carolina — so far — may be the most impressive SEC East team.
The Gamecocks went on the road Saturday and handled Missouri, a team that put up 815 yards of offense just one week ago. Mizzou had a much harder time against a stingy Gamecocks defense.
Head coach Will Muschamp was pleased with his team’s performance on the road. He had some interesting comments in the post-game press conference.
Some of the reasons he thought his team got out of Columbia with the win:
Muschamp: Did more crowd noise earlier in camp than we ever have, moved some things around with travel itinerary; we also have a better team

Muschamp: Need to make plays like FG block by Kinlaw to put the fire out on the road

The Gamecocks head coach also gave an update on one of his players:
Steven Montac has a sprained foot. Will Muschamp thinks he’ll be OK for next week.

How will South Carolina handle added pressure moving forward?
The Gamecocks are in first place in the SEC.

Muschamp: Our guys will handle raised expectations well, excited to get back to our fans

Muschamp doesn’t care how his team wins games, he just wants them to score more points than the other team.
Muschamp: not about yards, it’s about points. Proud of team and players, don’t get caught up in stats
