Which program most deserves the moniker of “Death Valley,” LSU or Clemson? If you ask Will Muschamp, that’s an easy answer.
South Carolina’s head coach was in attendance for the Gaston County Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony Monday evening and spoke during the event. While discussing his time working for Nick Saban at LSU, Muschamp offered up his thoughts on Clemson’s use of “Death Valley.”
Needless to say, Muschamp does not recognize the ACC’s version but does honor LSU’s:

The Gamecock coach has yet to beat Clemson in two tries, losing 56-7 in the fake Death Valley two seasons ago and dropping South Carolina’s home game against the Tigers 34-10 last season. Muschamp will have a chance to prove Memorial Stadium is not a place where opponent’s dreams come to die as he takes what will likely be his best Gamecock team to date to Clemson on Nov. 24.
Give Muschamp credit for poking fun at himself as well during the event. He offered up this comment about losing the Florida job, which he had from 2011-14.
Muschamp just cracked a joke on himself. “How do you get your ass fired from Florida? I often ask myself the same question. … But you roll your sleeves back up and get back to work.”
