Will Muschamp addressed South Carolina fans on his weekly radio show Thursday night.
He seems to be holding himself and his program to high standards, according to some of the comments he made.
Gamecocks fans should be glad to hear that their head coach expects better than what he saw last Saturday when South Carolina lost to Texas A&M 24-17 in College Station.
It’s unclear whether Muschamp is talking about his players or the fans here, but he sends a clear message that he understands anger being a natural response to losing — and he feels the same way:
Will Muschamp on call-in show: “I want to be in a place where they are (mad) when we lose. I’m not happy either. I’ve been (mad) all week.”

Muschamp also provided a few injury updates as the Gamecocks get set to host Arkansas on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
Will Muschamp on his teleconference: Terry Googer will be out this week. They hope to get him back next week.

Muschamp: Cory Helms and Malik Young are out Saturday. Zack Bailey could play, but it’s “doubtful at best.”

Muschamp: Rico Dowdle hasn’t been healthy since Missouri, but he’s looking good for this game. Keeps getting re-hit on a bad thigh bruise.
