Mississippi State fell behind 10-0 against No. 12 Kentucky, but the Bulldogs rattled off 31 unanswered points after the early deficit and cruised from there to a 31-17 victory in Starkville.

Mike Leach’s team improved to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in SEC play and it wouldn’t have been possible without the play of quarterback Will Rogers.

The 6-2, 210-pound sophomore completed a staggering 36-of-39 passes for 344 yards and a touchdown, and his 92.3 percent completion rate established a new SEC single-game record.

Rogers entered the game having competed 73.5 percent of his passes, and that number will now improve to an amazing 75.1 percent.

The Bulldogs, who haven’t lost at home to Kentucky since 2008, will play at Arkansas next Saturday.
