With another No. 1 preseason ranking, Alabama makes AP poll history

Alabama’s dynasty has continued as the Crimson Tide were ranked No. 1 in the preseason AP poll, which was released on Monday, for the third straight year.
It came to no surprise. The Tide won the national championship last season, continue to dominate on the recruiting trail and keep replenishing their program after each class of players leaves.
This top ranking even helped Alabama make AP poll history.
According to SEC Network, the Crimson Tide are the only team to be ranked in the top three in the AP preseason poll for nine consecutive seasons, a streak that began in 2010, when they were coming off their first of five national titles under Nick Saban.

And if that incredible stat wasn’t enough, here’s another one regarding the Crimson Tide’s No. 1 ranking:
Alabama ranked #1 in the 2018 Preseason AP Poll. That means Nick Saban's program has been ranked #1 at least once for 11 consecutive years in the AP Poll

Alabama will try to hold its No. 1 ranking all season, beginning when the Tide open the year against Louisville on Sept. 1 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
