LSU’s Super Regional opener against Kentucky was delayed for hours due to weather under questionable conditions. For the Tigers, it was worth the wait. LSU is now 1 win away from going back to the College World Series after crushing Kentucky 14-0 on Saturday night.

In his final home start for the Tigers, Paul Skenes shoved. Skenes tossed a gem Saturday night, posting a line of 7.2 IP, 4 H 9 K, 1 BB over 101 pitches of shutout baseball.

It wasn’t necessary with Skenes on the mound, but LSU also delivered an outpouring of offense for the rowdy Alex Box Stadium crowd. The Tigers left the yard 6 times, including multi-home run games from Tre’ Morgan and Tommy White.

LSU will look to keep it going in Game 2, set for 5 p.m. CT/6 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
