WR Laquon Treadwell is now in the NFL, so the Ole Miss Rebels need a new go-to receiver.
Redshirt junior Damore’ea Stringfellow would like to be QB Chad Kelly’s top target in 2016, according to a Clarion-Ledger article:
“We’ll have to wait until after camp to see that,” he said, “but hopefully I’m that guy.”
After recovering from an ankle injury this spring, Stringfellow said he has a new appreciation for the game of football:
“It was good for me to be able to hone in and figure out what I really wanted to do,” Stringfellow said. “And I say that because when football is taken away from you and you have to come and get treatment and this and that, you’re not really getting to feel the excitement of football. You question what you do. But that was a time for me to sit down and say this is what I want to do.”
Stringfellow caught 36 passes for 503 yards and five touchdowns in 2015. His biggest game was at Mississippi State in the regular-season finale, where he caught five passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns.
