Some things are so, so much bigger than football. Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama football program showed this week they understand that notion very well.

The Crimson Tide welcomed a young fan to practice who is battling a muscular disease, according to a tearjerking video posted to Alabama’s social media Monday. Susanna, who is 10 years old, was made a special guest and even had an opportunity to score a touchdown against the Crimson Tide’s first-team defense.

Not many people can say that, folks. According to the post, Susanna’s favorite position on the field is running back, but her favorite player is star QB Jalen Milroe.

The following video is absolutely worth your time:

Alabama football is in good hands under former Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer, who led the Huskies to the national championship game against Michigan last season. DeBoer has some huge shoes to fill in recently retired football legend Nick Saban, but a 63-0 win over Western Kentucky on Saturday was a good first step for his tenure in Tuscaloosa.

More importantly, it seems as if DeBoer is maintaining an excellent culture for the Crimson Tide moving forward.
