Vanderbilt football has gained some respect as the Commodores seem to have taken a step this year and are showing something to build upon after spending a long time as the SEC’s lowliest team. They’ve continued to show that as they have given Ole Miss a run for its money, heading to the locker room at halftime with the lead.

And it wasn’t until this 24-yard touchdown run from running back Zach Evans that the Rebels were able to snag both the lead and some momentum in the second half:

Evans has been a force for the Rebels’ ground game, which has been among the best in the nation and the SEC and was projected to be one of the top running back prospects in the NFL Draft before the season began.

He totals 9 carries for 62 yards with with 1 touchdown as the Rebels lead the Commodores, 31-20 midway through the third quarter.
