The SEC is well-represented in the 2025 NCAA Softball Tournament with 14 of the 15 conference programs receiving bids, a new record for 1 conference.

On Monday, ESPN analyst Haylie McCleney, a former Alabama standout and Olympic medalist with 10 years of pro experience as a player, appeared on the SEC Network’s Rally Cap to make some predictions. McCleney likes 9 of the 14 SEC teams to make it out of Regionals and play in Super Regionals.

In the SEC, 9 teams are set to host Regionals: Texas A&M (No. 1 overall seed), Oklahoma (No. 2), Florida (No. 3), Arkansas (No. 4), Texas (No. 6), Tennessee (No. 7), South Carolina (No. 8), LSU (No. 10) and Alabama (No. 15). McCleney likes most of the hosts to make it to Super Regionals.

As for an SEC non-host to make it to Super Regionals, McCleney picked Ole Miss. The Rebels knocked Florida out of the SEC Tournament and are playing in the Tucson Regional hosted by No. 13 Arizona.

McCleney says that of the SEC teams, Alabama has the toughest Regional. As for the toughest matchup, McCleney went with LSU vs. Nebraska, noting the Huskers have former Oklahoma standout Jordy Bahl.

Regionals are set to be held Friday-Sunday. We’ll see how McCleney’s predictions hold up.
