Keagan Rothrock was dialed in on Friday night. The Florida softball pitcher went all 7 innings without allowing a hit over 25 faced batters.

For Rothrock, it was the third no-hitter of her career. It was her first time no-hitting an SEC opponent. No. 7 Florida topped No. 24 South Carolina 5-0 in Columbia.

The Gators and Gamecocks found themselves in a tight game much of the night. Florida broke the scoring ice in the top of the 2nd, but it was a 1-0 game through the 5th inning.

In the top of the 6th inning, the Gators gave Rothrock a bigger cushion, adding 2 runs on a bases-loaded walk and a sacrifice fly. Townsen Thomas delivered more insurance runs in the top of the 7th, hitting a 2-run homer that plated Kenleigh Cahalan and extended the lead to 5-0, the game’s final score.

Florida improves to 38-5 on the year and 12-4 in SEC play. The Gators will try for the series on Saturday. Game 2 of the series is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET, airing on the SEC Network. Sunday’s series finale is set for 1 p.m. ET, streaming via SEC Network+.
