The Oklahoma City Thunder celebrated their 2024-25 NBA Championship with a parade through downtown on Tuesday afternoon.

After the parade had reached its final stop at OKC’s Scissortail Park, former Arkansas big man Jaylin Williams was amongst those who spoke to the thousands of fans in attendance. At the end of his speech, Williams got the crowd fired up by delivering arguably the best moment of the afternoon in OKC.

“They said we were too young,” Williams said, recounting a popular criticism of the Thunder throughout the year. “They said Oklahoma shouldn’t have a team. But guess what? We’re the f—ing champs!”

Here’s a (slightly NSFW) clip of Williams’ big moment on stage in OKC:

Williams was a role player for OKC this season, which was his third in the NBA. After missing the start of the year due to a hamstring injury, Williams played in 47 games — including 9 starts — while averaging 5.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists per night. He produced 2 triple-doubles this season with both coming back in March.

Williams was selected by the Thunder with the 34th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. He’s proved to be an excellent value so far with the Thunder and could be due for a big raise once his contract expires after the 2025-26 season.

Williams spent 2 seasons at Arkansas before moving on to his pro career. He was named all-SEC for his efforts as a sophomore in 2022.
