Aaron Donald was the subject of interesting news in the lead up to the Super Bowl as NBC Sports’ Rodney Harrison dropped an interesting news nugget.
The Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman, a 3-time defensive player of the year, is considering how his career will be remembered.
“He’s big on legacy, and he doesn’t want to be known as a defender that accomplished so many individual things, but never won a Super Bowl,” Harrison said before the game. “But he also told me this: If he wins a Super Bowl, there’s a strong possibility that he could walk away from the game and retire.”

Depending on the outcome, look for Donald to be asked about this after the game. Donald has been named to 8 Pro Bowls, 7 All-Pro teams, all-decade honors for the 2010s and 98 career sacks.
Donald, 30, led the Rams in sacks (12.5), tackles for loss (19) and QB hits (25) this season. He also broke the franchise record for career sacks. Donald has been one of the best defensive players in the NFL since he was selected by the Rams with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
