Adam Schefter was roundly criticized for a tweet about Dwayne Haskins’ death in which he highlighted the former first-round draft pick and ex-Ohio State star’s NFL struggles.

Schefter deleted that tweet and posted a different, more tactful one, but many still felt like it wasn’t enough.

On Monday, Schefter tweeted out a portion of his podcast. In the clip below, he issues an apology to Haskins’ family and tells some stories about what kind of player Haskins was becoming for the Pittsburgh Steelers:

Per Schefter’s segment above, there were some that felt Haskins was on his way to earning the Steelers’ starting QB job.

Haskins was 24 years old when he was killed in an accident in South Florida over the weekend.
