Baker Mayfield pulls off unbelievable third-down on conversion on wild scramble

During Saturday’s matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers, quarterback Baker Mayfield put his team ahead after extending a play that initially seemed like it was headed for a big loss.

With 4:21 remaining in the third quarter, the Buccaneers trailed by one point until Mayfield avoided a sack, scrambled, and broke multiple tackles to gain a first down. This effort kept the Buccaneers on the field and later set up a 45-yard touchdown pass from Mayfield to rookie wide receiver Tez Johnson, advancing the Buccaneers to a 27-19 lead.

The Oklahoma product is off to an incredible start this season, leading the Bucs’ on multiple game-winning drives en route to their 4-1 start. As of publication, Mayfield is one of the favorites to win the NFL MVP Award this season. DraftKings currently prices at +400 to win that award.

The Buccaneers currently boast a 4-1 record on the season and are determined to make the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season.
