The Broncos will be without the services of star quarterback Bo Nix when they host the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, but the club did receive some positive news when it comes to the future status of their signal-caller.

As NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported in the morning, Nix is looking at 3-4 months of recovery, but the surgery revealed some positive points. There is limited ligament damage and no impact on the joint surface within the second-year quarterback’s ankle.

Therefore, it has been reasonably concluded that Nix could be ready to participate in the team’s annual offseason OTAs.

Denver fans will rejoice at this good news, and for plenty of reason. After years of struggling to find their quarterback of the future, the Broncos hit the nail on the head when they selected Nix in the 2024 NFL Draft.

A promising rookie campaign saw Nix compete 66.3% of his passes while throwing for 3,775 yards and 29 touchdowns, and he followed that up with 3,931 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2025. The former Auburn and Oregon QB has also run for 786 yards and 9 touchdowns over that span.

So while Denver is currently locked in on potentially clinching a Super-Bowl berth this afternoon, the franchise can rest easy knowing that its most prized asset is facing a straightforward recovery.
