In a terrifying and tragic situation, the best of humanity is showing itself. Damar Hamlin’s toy drive has surpassed $3.5 million in support across the past 12 hours alone.

Hamlin, a Buffalo Bills safety who collapsed on the field following a hit to Bengals WR Tee Higgins Monday night, was rushed to the hospital after suffering cardiac arrest on the field. A report from the Bills early Tuesday morning stated that Hamlin is currently sedated and in critical condition. This information is accurate as of 9:50 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Hamlin’s toy drive was started with a goal of $2,500. He surpassed that goal before Monday night’s events and social media has left it far in the rearview overnight.

The link to the fundraiser is also in the tweet below:

Here’s Hamlin’s most recent Instagram post covering the scenes of the toy drive event.

At this point, all we can do is hope for the best for Hamlin and his family in an unimaginable situation.
