It appears Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold will now miss significant time because of a shoulder injury. Lions head coach Dan Campbell confirmed the news about the Alabama product in his Monday press conference.
“Unfortunately, he’s going to be out for a while,” Campbell said. “He’s going to be out for a long time.”
It’s still uncertain though whether the 22-year-old Arnold will be out for the season, according to Campbell.
The 6-foot, 195-pound Arnold also hurt his hand during the Lions’ 37-24 win against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Arnold tallied a tackle and 2 passes defended before being carted off the field. Arnold left the Lions’ previous game vs. the Cleveland Browns with the shoulder injury.
The Lions selected Arnold with the 24th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. During his rookie season, Arnold amassed 60 combined tackles and a fumble recovery.
Arnold had plenty of success while playing at Alabama. In 2022, Arnold was a Freshman All-American and made the Freshman All-SEC Team. The following season, Arnold ascended to earn First-team All-American and First-team All-SEC honors after posting 63 tackles, 5 interceptions, a sack, and a forced fumble.
Arnold arrived in Tuscaloosa as a 4-star prospect out of Tallahassee, Florida.
