Former Alabama WR Jameson Williams has a way of making fans and commentators ask, “How did he do that?”

One of those moments came in the first half of Thursday’s Thanksgiving game between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. Williams caught a Jared Goff pass behind the line of scrimmage, spun his way out of a tackle, and quickly scooted into the end zone for a 22-yard TD reception.

It was part of an explosive first half for Williams. In the first 2 quarters, he caught 3 of his 5 targets for 69 yards and the touchdown. The Lions may need more of that, as they trailed the Packers 17-14 at the half in Detroit.

Williams entered the game with 31 catches for 562 yards and 5 touchdowns. It’s been a bit of an unpredictable year for Williams. In Week 12, he had zero catches. He’s had multiple triple-digit outings on the year, however.

A first-team All-American and All-SEC selection in 2021 at Alabama, Williams is in his fourth professional season, all with Detroit. He was selected No. 12 overall by the Lions in the 2022 NFL Draft.
