Former Arkansas Razorbacks defensive back Montaric “Buster” Brown is staying put in Jacksonville after landing a 3-year, $33 million deal, according to Adam Schefter. Schefter also added that Brown would’ve had a strong market in free agency, but decided he didn’t want to leave Jacksonville.

Brown was a 7th-round pick in 2022 coming out of Arkansas. He played all 4 years at Arkansas and was recognized as First-team All-SEC in 2021.

Brown started 12 games for the Jaguars this past season, totaling 51 tackles, 43 of which were solo tackles, 12 passes defended, and a career high in interceptions with two. Since his debut in 2022, Brown has played in 52 games for the Jaguars and started in 29 of those games.

According to Pro Football Focus, Brown was given a 72.8 overall grade (20th CB) and a 75.5 coverage grade (14th) for his 2025 campaign. He also had a 15.9% forced incompletion rate and only allowed a 73.5 passer rating.

Brown’s best year so far came in 2024, when he played in all 17 games and started 10. He totaled 75 tackles, 8 passes defended, and 1 interception.

The 26-year-old will be a massive staple of the Jaguars’ defense going forward.
